Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 13, 2026
Futari ("we", "us", "our") is a wedding planning app built for couples. We believe your wedding plans are personal, and we treat your data with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
1. What We Collect
We collect only what is needed to make the app work for you and your partner.
- Account information. When you sign in, we store a unique user identifier and, if you use email sign-in, your email address. We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in securely.
- Wedding details. Names, wedding date, tasks, budget categories, vendor contacts, guest list, timeline events, and inspiration photos you add to the app.
- Photos. Images you upload to your planning album are stored in Firebase Storage, linked to your wedding.
- Device token. If you enable notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send you task reminders and wedding countdown alerts.
- Purchase information. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives a transaction receipt from Apple, not your payment details. We never see or store credit card numbers.
- Basic analytics. Firebase Analytics collects anonymized usage data (screen views, feature usage) to help us understand which features matter most. This data is not linked to your identity.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Sync your wedding plans between you and your partner in real time.
- Send you task reminders, countdown notifications, and weekly planning digests.
- Process your subscription through Apple and RevenueCat.
- Improve the app based on anonymized usage patterns.
3. Partner Sharing
When you link with a partner using an invite code, both of you share the same wedding data: tasks, budget, guests, vendors, timeline, and album. Each partner can view and edit shared content. This is the core purpose of the app.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Futari:
- Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, file storage, messaging, and analytics. Firebase Privacy
- RevenueCat for subscription and purchase management. RevenueCat Privacy
- Apple for in-app purchase processing, App Store distribution, and crash reporting.
We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising. We do not share your personal information with data brokers.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Cloud (via Firebase) with encryption in transit and at rest. Local data on your device is stored using standard iOS mechanisms (UserDefaults and app sandbox). We follow industry-standard security practices, but no system is perfectly secure.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and export. You can view all your data within the app at any time.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings within the app.
- Notifications. You can disable notifications at any time through iOS Settings.
- Analytics. You can limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Futari is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data from our servers within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained longer.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The effective date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
